William T. “Bill” Berend, 81 of DeForest, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 24, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born August 16, 1941 in Madison, the son of George and Nellie (Landsness) Berend.

He graduated from Monona Grove High School. He was employed at UPS, “Big Top” drove a twin trailer truck from WI Dells to Chigaco with consecutive safe driving for 35 years. He built his own home in DeForest in 1979. He had a passion for fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his children, Michelle (Dennis) Weisman, Kimberly (David) Krebs, Steve (Brenda) Berend, and Diane (Tim) Dollak; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 28 at 3 PM at Bonnet Prairie Lutheran Church in Rio with Rev. Yvonne Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Bonnet Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the time of service at the church Friday.
