Thomas E. Freund

Thomas Freund passed away on November 18, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI.  He was born August 31, 1951, in West Chicago, IL to Arnold and Bernice (LaBuda) Freund, the fifth of seven children.  Tom graduated from Northern Illinois University and taught school before discovering his true life career in sales.  

Tom’s primary love was his daughter, KT, whom he cherished and lovingly tormented with endless “dad jokes”, wild tales and political disagreements.  He was happiest outdoors whether hunting, fishing or hiking with friends. He always enjoyed getting together with family to share love, ideas and lively banter. Late in life Tom discovered the joy of trail riding his horse Tony, walking his dog in the woods and snuggling with his devoted cat.

Tom is loved and missed by his wife Joanne Draheim; his daughter KT (Steve) Elmore; stepdaughter, Michele (Dave) Braun and grandchildren Garrett (Elizabeth) Mildebrandt and Makiya Mildebrandt; stepson, Kevin Draheim and granddaughter Tatum; his sisters:  Patricia (Richard) Daleiden, Cathie (Rich) Parker, Barbara Norrgard (partner Dr. David Linde) and Janice Bedard (partner Tim Sheridan); his brothers: Douglas (Lorrie) and James (Lisa); and many nieces and nephews.

No service is planned at this time but Tom’s daughter and wife are asking you to wear a mask, practice proper social distancing and stay safe.  More information will be provided when it is once again safe to gather.
