Thomas R. Dodson

Thomas R. (PopPop) Dodson, 70, passed away peacefully July 3, 2021 after a hard fought battle against cancer.  He was born March 7, 1951 in Merced, CA. 

His family moved around the country to many Air Force bases before settling back in Madison.  He graduated from East High School in 1969 and attended UW Stevens Point.  He held various jobs before joining the University of Wisconsin Physical Plant where he worked as a custodian for over 25 years until retirement.

Tom loved fishing, playing euchre, the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers.  He could fix anything and loved to tinker in his workshop.  He loved desserts and the buffets were his favorite part of Las Vegas, followed closely by the casinos.  But most of all he loved his family who will cherish all the memories - his wife Lauren, daughter Sarah and grandson Vincent, daughter Emily and son in law Tim.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.  He is further survived by his 2 sisters Connie and Judy as well as many nieces and nephews and his best friends Brock and Scout.

Tom did not like funerals but agreed to let us celebrate his life.  Please join the family July 24th from 12-4 at Bowl-a-Vard Lanes on East Springs Drive to share memories and pictures of Tom and listen to some of his favorite music.  Please wear your Packer, Badger, or Brewer gear. We love you and miss you Tom.
