Theresa J. Baillies, age 93, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. She was surrounded by her family when she passed. Theresa was born July 15, 1930 in rural Cambria, daughter of John and Anna (Kampstra) Tamminga,

She graduated from Cambria High School in 1947. She attended Columbus County Normal School, receiving her teaching certificate in 1950. She taught in one room rural schools for 7 years. On May 12, 1956, she was united in marriage to Stewart W. Baillies. They lived in the Township of Scott all of their married life and enjoyed 52 years of marriage until his passing in 2007. Theresa was a loving and faithful caregiver to her husband, who was disabled due to Parkinson's disease. 

Theresa started teaching Sunday School in her teen years and continued throughout her adult life. She was a member of the Rosedale Presbyterian Church. She took special pride in caring for her many flowers and large garden. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking dinners for family gatherings, and was a sports enthusiast. She was always ready and willing to help others, no task seemed too hard for her to tackle. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love for the Lord was shown in all she did.

Survivors include 3 sons, Steven (Pat) Baillies of Sun Prairie, Tom Baillies of Cambria, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Baillies of Oregon WI.  5 grandchildren, 2 step grandsons, 7 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, 2 brothers, John Tamminga of Cambria and Dennis (Andrea) Tamminga of Fall River, sisters in-law, Charlotte (Trayton) Tamminga of Cambria, Patricia (Ronald) Tamminga, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stewart, sister, Delores Maier, twin brothers, Trayton and Ronald Tamminga, sisters-in-law Barbara (Dennis) Tamminga and Sandra (John) Tamminga.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 27 at 11 AM at the Rosedale Presbyterian Church on W3495 State Hwy 33, near Cambria. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the Church. Inurnment will follow the service at the Rosedale Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
