Steven E. Weisinger Obituary

Steven E. Weisinger, age 76, of Pardeeville, WI, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on May 12, 1949 in Portage, WI, the son of Gordon and Loma (Roundy) Weisinger. As a young boy, Steve cherished time spent at his grandfather’s home, where he found simple joy in feeding the pigs and chickens—early moments that reflected his lifelong appreciation for hard work and the quiet pleasures of life.

Steve graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1967. Shortly after, he was drafted into military service. Knowing he would be entering the U.S. Army, Steve chose instead to enlist in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving his country from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1972. During his time in the Navy, he worked as a boiler technician, a skill that would later shape his long and dedicated career.

Upon returning home, Steve began working at the newly constructed Wisconsin Power and Light plant. Through dedication and strong work ethic, he built a career spanning 31 years, retiring in 2004. He took great pride in his work and the life he built for his family.

In 1980, Steve was united in marriage to Joanne Vick. Together they were blessed with two children, Michael and Melissa. Joanne preceded him in death on January 31, 1997. In time, Steve found love again and was united in marriage to Terri Pritchard on May 25, 2001, later celebrating their marriage with a formal ceremony at Pardeeville United Methodist Church.

Steve and Terri shared many wonderful years together, creating lasting memories as they traveled across the country and beyond. Their adventures took them out west to places such as Mount Rushmore, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, and California, as well as to Canada and Mexico—experiences Steve deeply treasured.

A devoted family man, Steve rarely missed an opportunity to support his children in their school and sporting events, a tradition he proudly continued with his grandchildren. He found great joy in watching them grow and succeed. In his spare time, Steve had a knack for working with his hands. He especially enjoyed recycling scrap metal and had an incredible ability to take things apart and put them back together again—a true testament to his resourcefulness and skill.

Steve will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. He was a man who showed his care through actions, always willing to lend a hand and offer support when it was needed most. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

He is survived by his loving wife: Terri Weisinger of Pardeeville; his children: Michael (Danielle) Weisinger of Fort Mill, SC, Melissa (Sam) Weisinger of Lockhart, TX, Regina (Chris) Ontiveros of Wyocena, WI, and Amber (Jared) Oliver of Chandler, OK; nine grandchildren: Austin (fiancée Thamires) Weisinger of Fort Mill, SC, Ryan Weisinger of Fort Mill, SC, Aiden Koch of Lockhart, TX, Ashlynn Branch of Lockhart, TX, Steven (Katelyn) Ontiveros of Wyocena, WI, Clarissa (fiancé Robert) Ontiveros of Baraboo, WI, Nicole (Hunter) Wilbourn of Meeker, OK, Savannah (Clifford) Standlee of Meeker, OK, and Katelyn Oliver of Meeker, OK; nine great-grandchildren; his sister: Christine (Duane) Smith of Pardeeville, WI; nephew: Matthew (Jessica) Smith of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; brother-in-law: Tim Pritchard of Mountain Home, ID; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Loma Weisinger, and his first wife, Joanne Weisinger.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the VFW Hall, 215 W. Collins Street, Portage, WI. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service at the hall. Burial will take place at Wyocena Cemetery.
