Shirley Ann (Robbins) Hawley, age 88, of Pardeeville, WI gained her angel wings Thursday, September 23, 2021. Although she will be greatly missed by her large family and long-time friends, we take comfort in knowing that she is now again with the love of her life, her husband Dean of 71 years.
Shirley was born in Pardeeville March 1, 1933 to Jake and Fern (Epstein) Robbins. On February 11, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Dean Russell Hawley, in Pardeeville, WI. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pardeeville for most of her life. Shirley drove school bus for her brother Ed. She and Dean also loved having a 100 acre farm for 15 years.
Shirley was a woman of many talents. She curled, was an excellent bowler, sewed, cooked, baked, gardened, loved to read, played the accordion, did ceramics and other crafts, rode horses, and loved playing cards and games. Shirley and Dean were avid campers. They belonged to the WI Campers, Winnebago and Good Sam camping clubs. Beyond camping at many campgrounds in WI, they took many trips around the U.S. and Canada. Most important to Shirley was her family. She especially enjoyed becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved taking care of them, playing games with them, and displaying their pictures.
Shirley is survived by her children: Greg (Betty), Robert, Cheryl (Mike) Stowell, Lynn (Herb) Berra, Sue Buchan (Gordy Shaw), and Jennifer (Todd) Willger; grandchildren Melissa Hiltunen, Denise, Heather (Travis Kluge), Russell (Chris) Stowell, Michele Gibbs, Jacob Stowell, and Kaitlyn Partridge; three great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Howard (Sue) and Max Lytle; sisters-in-law Joyce (Donnie) Mienhardt and Janet (Peter) Gutowski. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, daughter Barbara, brother Ed Robbins, sisters-in-law Lois Robbins and Doris Lytle, and brother-in-law Duane (Bud).
A memorial service will be planned at a later time.
