Roger George Hoel, age 86, of Portage, WI, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at home. He was born November 18, 1937 on his family farm near Rio, WI. He is the son of Iva and George Hoel.

Roger went on to work on his family farm. On June 29, 1957, Roger married the love of his life, Shirley in Dubuque, IA. He became a diesel mechanic and a hobby farmer. Roger belonged to the Central WI Save The Animals Group (CWSTAG). Roger enjoyed trail riding and fixing anything and everything. What also brought joy to Roger was his mule Bart, his dogs Lacey, Shadow, Butters and mommy kitty and the baby.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Hoel; brothers Richard Hoel, Harland Hoel, and Robert Hoel; sister Delores Hoel; daughters Louise Bradica, Barbara Boehm, Joyce Paridies, Patricia (Patty) Hoel; son Russell Hoel; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Iva and brothers Ronald and Gerald Hoel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M on September 28, 2024 at the Community Church in Wyocena with Rev. Mark Brandel officiating.
