Robert (Bob) Griepentrog, 86, of Pardeeville, was ushered to Heaven Sunday, July 28, 2024.

Bob was a lifelong dairy farmer and farmed his homestead until he retired in 2001. Bob served on numerous farm boards, and also on the Pardeeville School Board in the late 1980’s. Following his retirement, he moved to Portage and fully grew into the social butterfly he struggled to be while farming. Having never met a stranger, Bob travelled, met, and befriended many people across the state and nation. His heart to serve led him to become a crossing guard for the Portage School District. He enjoyed interacting with children, and enjoyed his role in all weather conditions. He served as President of Portage Senior Citizens, and also served for many years as an Elder at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage.

He is survived by his son, Rob (Ruth) Griepentrog. Step-grandchildren, Isaac & Karissa Wesselman, grandchildren, Enoch & Selah Grace Griepentrog of Westfield, Indiana. Sister, Arlene (Harry) Katze of Cambria, WI, Stuart (Liz) Griepentrog, Sister-in-Law, Jean Griepentrog of Pardeeville, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen (nee Scott) Griepentrog, Granddaughter, Mireille Griepentrog, Parents, Alfred & Malinda Griepentrog, Brothers Martin and Vernon (Oscar) Griepentrog, Sisters Janet Griepentrog, Lorraine (Alvin) Fischer, Evelyn (Charles) Barbey, Sister-in-Law Althea Barrick, Brothers-in-law Charles Barbey and Alvin Fischer.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 2 at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Portage with Rev. Greg Hovland officiating. Interment will follow at Marcellon Cemetery. Visitation will be held  Thursday, August 1, from 4 to 7 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Pardeeville and again from 10 AM until the time of service at the church Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be given to St. John’s Lutheran Ministries. The family thanks the staff at Columbia Health Care Center for loving and serving Bob well in his final few years on earth.
