Pauline (Paula) Svacina, age 83, of Rio, WI passed away at home on January 20, 2025.

Pauline was born on September 11, 1941 in Nuremberg, Germany to Adolph (Kolb) and Margaret (Gastner) and moved to the United States at the age of 21. She was one of 5 children (Adolph, Annie, Ursula, and Christa) whom she loved dearly and still kept in contact with as much as possible.

Paula was well known for over 40 years of work in supper clubs and taverns around the Madison, DeForest, Windsor, and Waunakee area. She made many friends and was always the life of the party with her humor and hospitality. She loved hosting and entertaining and always had the best get- togethers and holidays. She was an amazing cook, decorator, and gardener with her one of a kind artistic abilities. She loved both American and Eurpean football and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Bavaria fan. She still loved to get together with family on the weekends for a friendly and competitive game of Euchre and shaking dice. Her never ending love and willingness to do anything for her family is what will be remembered and missed the most.

She is survived by her son Frank (Jean) Kolowrat and daughter Heidi Anderson. Grandchildren David (Allison) Kolowrat, Katie (Travis) Phillips, Alisha (Jason) Schroeder, Hailey (Colton) Schroeder Rausch, great-grandchildren Gunnar Yeager, Lucy and Cooper Phillips, and sisters Christa and Ursula. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, brother Adolph and sister Annie. 

Per her request, a public service will not be held. Family will hold a private service at a later date
