Paul B. Reiter, 80 of Pardeeville, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at his home. Paul Bunt Reiter, a man of unwavering commitment, was born December 28, 1943, at the Platteville Maternity Home in Platteville, WI, to Jess and Leila (Bunt) Reiter. Raised on a farm in Elk Grove, Lafayette County, Paul's roots ran deep in the soil of Wisconsin. In 1953, the Reiter family relocated to Platteville, where Paul attended Platteville High School, graduating with the class of 1963. Following his graduation, Paul embarked on a noble journey of service to his country by joining the United States Air Force … what he called the “easiest” branch. Stationed in Omaha, NE, and Stephenville, Newfoundland, Paul exemplified dedication in his service.

In 1968, Paul's life took a new trajectory as he graduated from the Wisconsin School of Electronics, paving the way for a distinguished career with General Telephone Co. (formerly known as GTE, later Verizon, and then Frontier). For an astounding 43 years, Paul poured his heart and soul into his work, embodying the values of integrity and diligence until his well-deserved retirement in 2012. On October 12, 1968, Paul exchanged vows with the love of his life, Betty Ann Gilbertson, at the Rio Assembly of God Church, where they found solace and strength in their faith the duration of their marriage. Their union of 55 years was blessed with three beloved sons, Stephen, Neal, and Ryan, who were the pride and joy of Paul's life.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his grandchildren, Matthew, Caleb, and Cora. Paul is also survived by his brother, Douglas (Ruth); sister-in-laws, Donna Reiter and Constance Curtis; brother-in-law, Ronald Gilbertson, and numerous nieces and nephews.Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Leila; brothers, John, Robert, and Richard; sisters, Janet Martens and Donna Campbell, and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth. 

Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25 at 3 PM at Bedrock Church in Rio with Rev. Cara Leucht officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 PM until the time of service at the church. Private family burial will take place at Pardeeville Cemetery. While Paul's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit of perseverance, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
