Patricia Plotner, age 86, of Rio, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Aspirus Divine Savior in Portage. She was born August 1, 1938 in Canton, IL to Louis and Carrie Simpson. Carrie passed away when Patricia was very young and she was raised by Wayne and Elizabeth (Betty) Simpson whom she called her parents. 

Patricia married Clair Plotner November 23, 1957 in Elmwood, IL. She graduated from Elmwood High School and continued on to receive her Associates degree in Agriculture Farming from Black Hawk College. She was devoted to caring for her 3 children until they left the nest and became the county clerk. She was a member of the Toulon Baptist Church and later Galva Baptist Church. She moved to Rio and became a part of Living Gospel.  

Patricia is survived by her son Mark (Sarah) Plotner and daughter Connie (Don) Hessler; grandchildren, Samantha (Skyler) Hawley, Amanda Quick, Brandon Quick, David Quick, Rosanna (Gordon) Sangris, Steven (Dehga) Charlo, Aaron (Laura) Plotner, Rebecca (Branden) Plotner, Billy (Rena) Tawetsi, Todd Hessler, Michelle (Thierry) Hessler, and Kyle Hessler; great grandchildren, Daphne (Riley) Sleeman, Alexis (Samuel) Motto, Joseph Hawley, Faye (Somira) Arvin, Jackson Quick, Damien Helmstder, Alyssa Sangris, Sizeh Sangris, Maade Sangris, Dalayna Sangris, Gordyn Sangris, Tayen Charlo, Niiskun Tawetsi, Alena (Chris Faulk) Hessler, Heather (Adam) Maier; 10 great great grandchildren; siblings Jim (Flo) Simpson, Phil (Kathleen) Simpson, Leah (John) Hall, and Cathy (Bob) Bowen, Mary Nell Simpson, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Clair Plotner; brothers Curtis Simpson and John Simpson, sister in-laws Peggy Simpson, Connie Simpson and Pat Simpson; daughter Doris (David) Quick; parents Wayne and Elizabeth (Betty) Simpson & Louis and Carrie Simpson; and great grandchildren Jonathan Hessler and Faith Sangris. 

Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:30 A.M at the Living Gospel Church with Karrie Landsverk officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M until the time of service at Church. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
