Patricia C (Shoddy) Osborn, age 88, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 surrounded by her loving family in Portage, WI. Pat was born in Griffith, IN to Louis Fred and Catherine Mary (Halsema) Shoddy on February 19, 1936. 

As a child, she and her family, including her sister Elizabeth and brothers Richard and John moved to Fulton, IN. Pat always took pride in graduating in the top ten of her class there. She was the Salutatorian in her class of 8. She stayed close to her remaining classmates, especially Mary Lu Cassel-Mikesell, her best friend of 79 years, to the end.

After graduation, Pat met and married the love of her life, Richard W. Osborn on June 23, 1956. They traveled to nearly all 50 states together and spent many winters in Lorida, FL. They started their family in Logansport, IN before moving to Pardeeville, WI in 1980. Pat was a self taught Legal Assistant who excelled at and was highly regarded in her profession.

Pat was a devoted and loving friend, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by daughters Barbara (Jerome) Davis and Caroline (Shawn) Lasecki; sons David (Shelley) Osborn and Daniel (Marianne) Osborn; 8 loving grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband Richard preceded her in death September 4, 2019. She is also preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister; and 2 brothers.

When Pat moved to the Heritage House, she met a very dear friend, Faye Wielgus, as well as many other new friends, both staff and residents. Her contagious smile lit up any room she entered and she always made friends easily because of that. She was kind and witty her entire life. Pat was a beautiful soul whose impact will be forever felt by family and friends. She loved unconditionally, sacrificed unselfishly, provided support wherever it was needed, and loved her entire family immeasurably.

A special thanks to Agrace Hospice-we had an amazing team! Heritage House, so many of you are now family as well! Cortney Anderson, there will forever be a seat for you at our Christmas dinner and every other dinner as well. Thank you for loving our mama and making her laugh, even on days that were not particularly funny.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 2 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church (St. Faustina Parish) in Pardeeville with Father Randy officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service Tuesday. Interment will be in the Pacific Cemetery in Portage with a luncheon to follow.
