Norman G. Bortz

Norman G. Bortz, 83 of Reedsburg, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. He was born January 8, 1939 in the Pardeeville/Morrisonville area, the son of Marvin and Genevieve (Achterberg) Bortz. 

Norman graduated from DeForest High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Beverly Baumgartner February 4, 1961 at Bonnet Prairie Lutheran Church outside of Rio. Norm was employed as a semi tractor-trailer driver for UPS for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, farm work, gardening, and spending time in the outdoors. 

Survivors include his wife Beverly of 61 years; son Wayne (Dawn) Bortz; daughters Robin Bortz and Jennifer (Vince) Clarkgrandchildren Bryan Bortz, Christopher (Jennifer) Bortz, Justin Bortz, Thomas Bortz, Brittany Simon, Breanna Simon, and Alexis Simon; great grandchildren Aaden Bortz and Emmett Bortz; one brother, two sisters, and his ever faithful Golden Lab buddy, Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. 

A celebration of Norman's life will be held Sunday, August 28 from 2 to 5 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Reedsburg, formerly Hoof Funeral Home.
