NolaJoy (Kramer) Weiss was called home to Heavenly reward March 5, 2021 surrounded by her family after a battle with Covid-19. She was born November 7, 1953 to Kenneth and Edith (Skrenes) Kramer in Madison.
The family later moved to a farm in Rio where they raised their growing family. NolaJoy graduated from Rio High School and then went on to attend North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN. She lived in North Dakota for a short time, working as a nurse’s aide. She eventually came back to Madison where she worked at WPS for many years.
Family gatherings brought NolaJoy great happiness. She took pride in being able to rock any baby to sleep. Her greatest passion was serving the blind community. She had made many friends that depended on her gift of time and dedication to them. This service led her to the love of her life, Edward Weiss. Ed and NolaJoy were united in marriage December 1, 2018 in Madison. Though their time together was too short, they possessed a deep love for one another. Everyone could see how happy they made each other. She was a woman of devout faith in her God. One of her final messages before she was no longer able to communicate was “He is my strength and shield.”
NolaJoy is survived by her husband Ed Weiss of Madison; brothers Don (Gerri) Kramer of Lodi, Dewey (Becky) Kramer of IL, Dale (Sue) Kramer of Spring Green; foster siblings, Kathy Raymond, and Carla and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marie West.
A private funeral ceremony will be held for immediate family. Interment will be held at Ohio Cemetery in Rio. There will be a celebration of life for extended family and friends at a later date.
