Nancy (Kusrow) Dykstra, age 73, of Otsego Township, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at home.
She was born April 30, 1952, in Columbus, Wisconsin, to Herman and Althea (Hazard) Kusrow. Nancy graduated from Rio High School in 1972. She married Robert Hartley, which blessed them with their beautiful daughter Sarah. They later divorced but remained friends. Nancy then was united in marriage to Clifford Dykstra in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin.
Nancy was employed at the Advertiser in Jefferson and also worked at Autumn Winds and Twin Rivers Assisted Living. She dedicated many years to caring for others through her work.
When she was younger, Nancy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and baking. She also found joy in writing letters, gardening, and spending time with her family and her beloved cats. Nancy will be remembered for her kind heart, creativity, and the love she shared with those closest to her.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah (Aaron) Lochner of Endeavor; granddaughter Brittany (Lucho) Kanchev of WI Dells; grandson Josiah (Ruby) Lochner of Westfield; great granddaughters Esther and Noelle; stepdaughters Kathy and Jody; brother Steven Kusrow from Columbus; her feline companions, and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and sister-in-law Yolanda Kusrow.
Nancy’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 10:00 A.M until 11:00 A.M. with a luncheon to follow at City of Refuge Church, 111 E. Haertel St in Portage. Memorials may be given to a local animal shelter and rescue of your choice in honor of Nancy.
