Obituary

Nancy May (Walden) Cassity, 87, of Baraboo passed away May 15, 2023. She was born August 24, 1935, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to William B. and Ethel M. (Custer) Walden.

She graduated from Mary D Bradford High School in 1953. She married Everett A. Cassity on March 9, 1963. They remained happily married 59 years until Everett’s passing April 14, 2022. In 1969 Nancy and Everett moved to Baraboo where they owned and operated Badger Cleaners. Nancy continued her career as a bookkeeper at Baraboo National Bank, Glacier Valley Ford, and Fishkin Horman and Associates in Baraboo until she retired. Nancy’s hobbies included her flower garden, reading books, sewing, and keeping all her song birds (especially cardinals) fed at her hobby farm. Later in life, one of her favorite activities was baking and decorating themed birthday cakes for her grandchildren. Nancy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Baraboo where she served in many different roles including Sunday school superintendent, ladies guild chair, music director, and pre-school treasurer. Nancy was also a volunteer for the first infant car seat program in Baraboo called Operation Buckle-Up.

Nancy believed the words of 1 Peter 1:3-4 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection
of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. Nancy now rejoices in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
