Merna J. Robinson, age 88, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Divine Savior Tivoli in Portage. Merna was born April 14, 1930 in East Bennett Valley, Eleva, WI the daughter of John and Margaret Austin. On July 13, 1948 she married the love of her life, Edgar W. Robinson in Moorhead, MN. Together the had two daughters, Rita Faye and Nadine Pamela, raising them in Lodi.
Merna worked as an aide at Central Colony in Madison and Columbia County Healthcare Center in Wyocena. She also spent a number of years waitressing in the Portage area, along with working at the Portage Super Walmart where she enjoyed the companionship of co-workers and customers.
The highlights of Merna’s life revolved around the time she shared with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She also enjoyed ceramics, needlepoint cross stitching, traveling, gardening, flower arranging, bird watching, fishing, reading, bowling, going to Ho-Chunk Casino, watching the Green Bay Packers, hockey, golf on television, doing word search puzzles, playing bingo and listening to music.
Merna is survived by her daughter Nadine, (Thomas) Lynch of Portage; grandchildren Ami (Fraser) Paton of Katy, TX and Todd (Jennifer) Lynch of Oregon; great grandsons, Brett, Eddie and Austin Paton of Katy, TX and Graham Lynch of Oregon, WI; great-granddaughter, Penelope Lynch, Oregon, WI; sisters, Rosella (Willie) Schoff of Milton, WI and Mary Zindorf of Fond-du-lac, WI. she is further survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gloria; her husband Edgar; her daughter Rita, brother-in-law William Robinson; sisters-in-law Luella Hanson, Emma Williams and Margaret Bewick.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 505 East Lafollette St. Pardeeville. Inurnment will follow in Pardeeville Cemetery with a luncheon immediately afterwards. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services, Saturday at the church.
