Mary Elizabeth Schuette age 88 of Reedsburg, passed away June 19, 2023. She was born January 28, 1935 in Reedsburg to the late Martin and Martha (Geisser) Roewer. On October 19,1957 she was united in marriage to Edward Schuette at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Springs WI. He preceded her in death March 22, 2015. Her brother Donald Roewer, preceded her in death.

Mary was very blessed when on January 24, 1992 she received the gift of life, a kidney transplant. Mary and her husband lived on a farm in the Rock Springs area and then made their home in Reedsburg. She was employed by Sauk County for 22 years and upon retirement worked part time for Lands End.

She is survived by her son, Scott Schuette and friend, Julie Kelley of Madison; daughter, Lisa (Darrell) Schwandt of Aurora, Colorado; son, David (Cynthia) Schuette of Gloucester, Virginia; three grandchildren, Edward, Trinity, and Maj-Britt Schwandt of Aurora, Colorado.

Funeral service will be held Friday, June 23 at 11 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Rev. Paul Crolius officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Rock Springs. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 22 from 4 to 7 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Reedsburg and again from 10 AM until the time of service at the church Friday.
