Mary L. Flohr-Wilke Obituary

Mary Flohr-Wilke, age 78, of Weyerhaeuser, WI, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at her home. She was born on January 20, 1948, in Reedsburg to Erich and Mary Flohr.

In her early years, Mary worked as a waitress and as a farmhandon Al Dreishmeir’s farm. It is there that she met Raymond Van Coulter. They were married on January 19th, 1969 in Reedsburg. Their marriage was blessed with three children. In 1978 Ray and her bought a home in Woodland Township. In the 1980s, on her father’s farm, outside of Reedsburg, she helped raise veal calves alongside Ray and her three children.

In 1988, Mary chose to move to Weyerhaeuser, WI, where she continued waitressing before joining the Laborers’ International Union, working in road construction. On May 3, 1998, she married Fred W. Wilke Jr.

Mary enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. She planned to go bear hunting this year, but the Lord had other plans for her. Mary loved animals, especially dogs. Her children remember her brining home all types of dogs from a Husky, a St. Bernard, a beagle and many mutts. She was always tending to many different types of animals on her hobby farms including cows, calves, beef cattle, dogs and cats.

She also loved gardening and canning the produce she grew. In her later years, she enjoyed attending auctions.

She is survived by her children Diane (Joe) Reinfeldt, Al (Lora) Van Coulter of Reedsburg and Jim (Jenny) Van Coulter of La Valle; nine grandchildren; her cousin, Evan Roloff of Wonewoc; other extended family and her two dogs, Duke and Cash.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Raymond Van Coulter and her husband, Fred Wilke Jr.

A private family burial will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Reedsburg.
