Marvin L. Tibbitts, 62, a lifelong Reedsburg resident, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He was born May 10, 1960, the fourth son of George and Carol (Meyer) Tibbitts.
Marvin was a graduate of Reedsburg High School. He attended UW Stevens Point, after which he worked for the WCC at White Mound park . His group nominated him to go to San Francisco to help plant trees in Golden Gate Park. Later, he was employed by Hankscraft until his retirement. He married Vickie Rosenow June 11, 1988, in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. They were devoted to one another for 33 years.
Marv was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers and with friends. He was a member of the Reedsburg Outdoor Club of LaValle and served on the committee. He was a member of Wisconsin waterfall association and helped with banquets and raffles. He loved going on his duck hunting trips. He and Vickie had fun visiting family in other parts of the country, as well as their favorite places in Wisconsin. Marv especially loved his dogs, Freckles and Sadie.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie; brothers, Dean (Christiane) of Matthews, North Carolina, and Dennis (Shelley) of Woodstock, Illinois; sister-in-law Sue Tibbitts of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; brothers-in-law Mark Rosenow (Teresa) of Reedsburg, Wisconsin; William Rosenow (Lorie) Palmyra, Wisconsin; sister-in-law Tammy Roessler (Ted) of Lime Ridge, Wisconsin and nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant sister; his parents; and his brother Earl.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 25 at 11 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Rev. Paul Crolius officiating. Interment will follow at Big Creek Cemetery in La Valle. Visitation will be held Monday, October 24 from 4 to 7 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Reedsburg and again from 10 AM until the time of service at the church Tuesday.
