Marian (Mom) is now at rest, joining her son Richard (1955-1965) and husband of 64 years, Edwin (1922-2010). She celebrated her 97th birthday with family.
Marian M. Schlieckau was born the daughter of August and Martha (Wauwrok) Schlieckau and raised with unfailing faith in God and a strong work ethic. As a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Loganville, she served others with her special pies, cakes, bars, and cookies. She especially loved donating quilts to Lutheran World Relief. After leaving the farm in 1966, she worked for Hankscraft until 1996 receiving awards for perfect on-time attendance. She later worked part time for Viking Village Foods and Lands’ End. She enjoyed travel, card playing, sudoku, and dancing. She valued education and encouraged all to strive for excellence in service and to work with perseverance toward their goals.
She is survived by daughters Beverly (Dale, 1999) Hoege and Sandra (David) Riley. Services will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Loganville, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Peter Bredlau officiating. Visitation will start at 12:30 and a luncheon will follow interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
