Margaret “Maggie” Guadarrama, 77 of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 4, 2023. Maggie was born on February 21, 1946, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She was the adopted daughter of Reuben & Augusta Black, who loved her her entire life. Maggie happily connected with her birth mother, Carolyn Sipple, in 2018.
Maggie was a local graduate from WEBB High School class of 1964. She would later earn her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University in 2003. Maggie served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) in 1967 as an operating room specialist. Once the WAC disbanded in 1978, she continued her service in the U.S. Army. Maggie retired after 20 years of active service as a Sergeant First Class (SFC) E7. After retiring from the military, she held various positions around the Reedsburg area, from serving as the village clerk of Loganville, to an operating room technician at Reedsburg Area Medical Center, and then retiring in 2012 from Walmart in Wisconsin Dells. Maggie loved to read, study genealogy, and was a master of the ancient yarn arts. She often bestowed her creations to friends and family. Maggie also enjoyed rooting for all the Wisconsin Sports; Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks.
Survivors include her daughter, Nicole Guadarrama; her stepson Esteban Guadarrama (Candace); and beloved cousins, Richard Black (Cynthia), and David Black. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Augusta Black.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, at 5 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Pastor Mark Brandel will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 3 PM until the time of the service. As a celebration of Maggie’s life, the family invites you to share your stories and photos of her during the service.
