Marcella Eunice Harms, age 91, went to her Heavenly Home peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Reedsburg Area Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Marcella was born on January 27, 1933, to the late Lucas and Marie Muchow.

On September 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Arend Harms at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Loganville, Wisconsin. This 72 year marriage was blessed with 3 children and a lot of great memories. Marcella farmed alongside Arend for 36 years. Marcella especially loved being with her family and always took a special interest in everything they did from school to sports to hunting and fishing. She loved to fish, making many trips Up North with family. She also enjoyed playing sheepshead, euchre, and double solitaire. Believe it or not  her competitive nature shone through brightly in both! She also loved just being outdoors and reading. She was a helpful and wonderful Mother and Grandmother who taught us many life lessons, including always looking for the good in everyone. Marcella loved her Lord and Savior and she treasured His love for her. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Reesburg; St. Peter’s LWML and St. Peter’s Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her loving husband Arend; children Julie (Clint) Thompson, Tim (Tammy) Harms and Brian Harms; Grandchildren Shannon (Jason) Johnson, Tarah Harms, Brooke (Brent) Leiterman and TeAnn (Bryan) Ross; Great-grandchildren Summer Thompson, Adalyn Leiterman, Iverson and Jah Ross, Nolan and Molly Johnson with 2 more Great-granddaughters on the way. She was preceded in death by siblings Leonard (Estella) Muchow, Eleanor (Hubert) Meyer, Lorna (Edmund) Goetsch, Gilbert (Arleda) Muchow, Elva (Ewald) Gluth, LaVern (Myrtle) Muchow, DeLores (Melvin) Brandt and Melvin (Nina) Muchow; brother-in-laws Wilbert (Delores) Harms and Jerome (Rita) Harms; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Reedsburg, with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, from 4:00-7:00 PM, at Grasse Funeral Home and from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery with a luncheon following at church. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Peter’s LWML or St. Peter’s Steeple Project.
