November 17, 2021, we said goodbye to mom. Lucille J. Venus, 98, from Cudahy, WI, passed away peacefully at Tivoli Assisted Living in Portage, WI, with her family at her side. She was born March 26, 1923 to John and Katherine Ludwiczak, and grew up in South Milwaukee, WI.
Lucille was married to C. Donald Venus, of Venus Ford in Cudahy. They enjoyed 49 years of happy memories and laughter. They had five children. When the children were young, she enjoyed many summers at the cottage on Lauderdale Lake in Elkhorn, WI. After having five children, Lucille became an avid golfer! She loved golfing at Tuckaway CC and made many dear, life long friends during their 50 years as members. She was also proud that she made two holes in one there! She passed the love of golf on to her children, grands and great grands! Lucille enjoyed family time. Mom loved her time in Oconomowoc. There she thoroughly enjoyed the nightly sunset pontoon rides on the Okauchee Lake. Lucille enjoyed watching golf on TV as well as following the Packers and Badgers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always made holidays delicious! She was an amazing cook.
She is survived by four children, Kurt (Cindy) Venus, Germantown, Wisconsin; Karen (Steve) Van Vuren, Gilbert, Arizona; Gayle (Jim) Bernander, Pardeeville, Wisconsin; and Donna (Scott) Sylla, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She had three grandsons; Carsten (Katie) Van Vuren, Christopher (Angie) Bernander, Matt Sylla and fiancé Meghan Biernacki, two granddaughters, Kate (Arthur) Korupczynski and Ashley ( Lyndsey) Seela. Lucille was also blessed with seven great grandchildren; Logan, Claire, Connor, Drew, Alexandra, Elise and Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Gary.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Tivoli and the Agrace Hospice team in Portage. A private family celebration of Lucille’s life will be held at a later date.
