Linda L Liedl Obituary
Linda Liedl, age 62, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at UW Hospital in Madison following a brief battle with heart failure.
She was born October 9, 1962, in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Don and Carol Liedl. Linda grew up in Madison and graduated from James Madison Memorial High School in 1981. On May 13, 1989, she married Dave Kitsemble, and though they later parted ways, Linda treasured the family they built together.
Linda’s proudest role in life was being a mom to her daughters, Stephanie (born in 1986) and Tiffany (born in 1992). She was incredibly proud of them for following their dreams and never missed a chance to brag about their accomplishments. She shared aspirations of traveling with Stephanie, and the two often dreamed together about where life’s adventures might take them. Linda also especially loved telling others that Tiffany was a firefighter, as she had the utmost respect for fire, police, and EMS professionals.
Throughout her life, Linda worked tirelessly, often holding two or three jobs at once—not only to provide for her family, but because she had an endless energy for helping and doing. Most recently, she worked as a project coordinator.
When she wasn’t working, Linda was happiest cheering on her girls at their sports events, scrapbooking, cross stitching, crafting, putting together puzzles, or enjoying a quiet evening of TV. In recent years, she found her greatest joy in being “Grandma” to Braxton, Ryder, and Logan. Whether it was playing toys on the living room floor, making little adventures to the park or the library, or simply snuggling together at home, Linda cherished every moment with her grandsons.
Linda had a gift for making those around her feel seen and loved. She was a light in the darkness for many—always quick with a kind word, a helping hand, and a smile that made the hardest days easier. She lived her life with fullness, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Dylan Johnson) Kitsemble and Tiffany (Spencer) Reed; her beloved grandsons, Braxton, Ryder, and Logan Reed; her brothers, Gary (Holly) Liedl and Greg (Paulette) Liedl; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister who both passed in infancy; her brother, Jeff Liedl; and her grandson, Micah Reed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Waunakee, WI. Visitation will take place at the church prior to the service from 1:00–3:00 p.m. In keeping with her wishes, Linda will be cremated, with her remains lovingly shared between her daughters. To honor Linda, the family invites all who attend to wear her favorite color, purple.
Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff at UW Hospital for their kindness, expertise, and extraordinary care during Linda’s final days.
Mom, we weren’t ready to lose you. We will forever miss your laugh, your love, and your guidance. Rest now, and watch over us until we are together again.
