Lawrence Krejcha Obituary

Lawrence John “Larry” Krejcha, age 86, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024 at the VA Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on October 13, 1937, in Racine, WI, the son of the late Louis Krejcha and Margaret (Voss) Krejcha-Lyscio. He married his beloved wife Sylvia (Deltgen) Krejcha on May 22, 1999 in Mountain, WI.

Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served our nation before pursuing various occupations, notably selling shoes, a topic he often shared with the caring nurses who attended to him. One of his greatest joys was owning Fox Valley Aquarium in Appleton, WI for multiple decades. Later, he assisted his wife Sylvia in running the Mountain Top Bar in Mountain, WI.

Larry cherished the outdoors, finding solace in fishing and hunting in Northern Wisconsin. He enjoyed spending time in his waders trying to catch the big one in the Oconto River. Larry was a collector of stamps, gnomes, red glass, and plenty of stories. He and Sylvia enjoyed many years living in the sunshine of Fort Myers, Florida before returning to Wisconsin in 2022. Larry had a wonderful sense of humor and sociable nature. He will be deeply missed.

His survivors include his wife Sylvia Krejcha; sisters Jean (Tom) Kelly, Janie Sonnenschein, and Kim (Tom) Cody; daughters Laurie Krejcha-Wyngaard of Blairsville, GA and Pam Remme of Almond, WI; son John (Karen) Krejcha of Vancouver, WA; stepdaughter Sue (Kirk) Westergard of West Des Moines, IA; grandchildren Jeff Borchert, Andrew (Tricia) Schabrath, Ashley (Steven) Stolze, Cody (Rachel) Wyngaard, Shelly Remme, Shannon (Matt) O’Brien, Justine Krejcha, and Ryan Krejcha; great-grandchildren Lydia, Ivan, Viktor and Alana Schabrath, Wren and Theo Wyngaard, Peyton Christman, Brooke Christman, Braxton Walzer, Weston Remme Myles and Morgan O’Brien. He is further survived by numerous extended family, stepfamily, in-laws, and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Krejcha and Margaret (Voss) Krejcha-Lyscio; brothers Louis “Lou” Krejcha, Jerome “Jerry” Krejcha Sr.; infant brother George; and son Todd Krejcha.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held in Appleton sometime in the summer of 2024. Please feel free to contact John Krejcha for more information.
