Kristine L. Moll

Kristine Louise Moll, age 66, of Rio passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. She was born December 3, 1951 in Portage, the daughter of Stanley and Shirley Hurd. She married James Moll on July 8, 1972 in Rio.

Kris attended Rio schools and graduated in 1970.  Following high school, she began classes at MATC. It was there at a school dance that Jim Moll asked her to dance, and her life was never the same. The two were united in marriage a year later and they spent the next 46 years together.  Although Kris worked a variety of clerical and administrative positions as a young adult, her best years were at home with her two boys, homeschooling, and house-making. Following her sons’ interests over the years was her greatest joy and she was tireless in support of their baseball, basketball, and car racing. She was always eager to help her dad with his antique car literature business and traveled with him often to shows across the country. Kris was social and enjoyed conversation, whether with classmates in town, friends at bible study, residents of her mother’s nursing home, or nurses at dialysis.

Kris learned to crochet and made blankets, mastered crosswords, and played every board and card game. Over the last 9 years she was blessed with 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. She loved hearing humorous tales of their shenanigans and watching them grow. Kris was unshakable in her faith and loyal to friends and family. She loved telling and hearing stories of times gone by, and she will live forever through our stories. She will be deeply missed.

Kris is survived by husband Jim; sons Jamie (Jaime) and Jason (Emily); grandchildren Jaxson and Natalie, William, Benny, Ikey, Charlie, and Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley Hurd and Shirley Hurd, sister Karen Pribbenow, mother-in-law Mary Ann Moll, and father-in-law Jim Moll.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 3:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 610 Lincoln Ave, Rio with Rev. Ann Walsvik officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm until time of the service.
