Kay E. Haberkorn

Kay Evelyn Payne Haberkorn, age 87, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026.  Kay was born on August 31, 1938 to William Payne, Sr. and Evelyn (Becker) Payne.

Kay married Alfred Haberkorn on September 6, 1958 and moved into the family farm in Dalton, WI where they resided their entire married life.

Kay and Alfred were parents to two girls, Linda Kay and JoAnn Marie.  As a family they raised registered Holsteins on their farm and Kay's love for the black and white bovine lasted well beyond their farming years.

In addition to the time on the farm, Kay worked at Everbrite in Pardeeville for over 60 years.  She took great pride in her years of service to their company.

Kay is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, Alfred; her daughters Linda (Mark) Preuss and JoAnn (Ian) Powell; grandchildren Nicole (Michael) Mielke, Alex Preuss, Katie Jo (Zach) Brandenburg, and Matthew Powell; five great grandchildren; sister Leona (Charles) McLaughlin; sisters-in-law Laura Payne and Leatrice Manthey; and brother-in-law Jerome Haberkorn; and many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Barbara Dalton and Janice Lang and their spouses; her brother William Payne, Jr.; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Burnett, Kathleen Haight and Lois Reynolds and their spouses; sister-in-law Pearl Haberkorn; and brother-in-law Eugene Manthey.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.

We will always remember Kay's generosity towards others.
