Kathy McManamy, age 79, passed away on October 18, 2024 at Reedsburg Senior Life Center after fighting a deteriorating illness. Kathy was born in Baraboo, WI to Joe and Charlotte (Graves) McManamy on August 22, 1945 the youngest of five children. 

Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Reedsburg, WI where she attended school graduating in 1963 from Reedsburg High School. Following High School Kathy attended Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL after which she began a long and varied career that included helping others as the primary focus. In the late 70’s Kathy returned home to Baraboo, WI where her parents had again moved. At this time she began working at K-Mart as an associate while also helping her elderly parents. In the early 80’s she began working in the local skiing industry winding up at Cascade Mountain. She had many varied positions at Cascade ending with the one she loved the most which was coordinating work, housing etc. for the many foreign students who came to Cascade for temporary winter work. Kathy retired from Cascade in late 2021. In May of 2022 Kathy sold her home in Portage WI and returned to her hometown of Reedsburg, taking up residence at Maple Ridge senior apartments for a year followed by her final move to Reedsburg Senior Life Center. 

She is survived by her sister Barbara (Bruce) Byrne Haddonfield NJ; Faye McManamy (sister-in-law) LaValle, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Charlotte Coughlin, Killeen TX; Nancy and Gordon Esser of Baraboo, WI; and brother Thomas McManamy of LaValle, WI. 

Services will be held at Grasse Funeral Home 312 N. Park St. Reedsburg, WI at 11 A.M on Thursday October 24, 2024 with visitation starting at 10 A.M. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11 A.M at Natural Path Sanctuary, 2299 Spring Rose Rd, Verona, WI 53593. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorials be directed to the Columbia County Humane Society or the 1st Presbyterian Church of Reedsburg.
