Kathleen L. Holly

Kathleen Louise (Sherwood) Holly, 72 of Reedsburg, passed away in her home on April 24, 2023, surrounded by her husband Ralph, daughter Erin, and long-time caretaker Eva Burgess. Kathie was born October 10,1950, in Wisconsin Rapids to Roland and Mary Sherwood. 

Kathie married Ralph Holly of Loganville in June of 1972. They had one child, Erin. Kathie was a teacher for 34 years in the Wisconsin Dells School District. She was honored in the HoChunk community for her dedicated work with HoChunk children, and efforts to better educate herself and colleagues of their cultural practices. Kathie was also involved with the Sauk County Humane Society and sat on the board until her death. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Reedsburg, sang in the choir, and as an accomplished piano player, occasionally accompanied other vocalists for services.

Kathie is survived by husband Ralph, daughter Erin, grandchildren Natalie and Brady Bolstad, and brothers Marc and Rick Sherwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rol and Mary Sherwood.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 5 at 11 AM at the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg with Rev. Vicki Brantmeyer officiating. A luncheon will follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service at the church. Kathie has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Reedsburg Public Library, Lake Delton Elementary School, or Spring Hill Elementary School of Wisconsin Dells.
