Katherine (Kennedy) Birdsill, age 88, of Reedsburg, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family by her side. She was born January 30, 1938 in Baraboo to William and Viola (Bassett) Kennedy.

Katherine graduated from Baraboo High School in 1956. She married Roger Birdsill on May 20, 1961 in Reedsburg, and together they were blessed with four children: Teresa "Teri", Dick, Tom, and Gary. The couple began their life together farming in rural Reedsburg and Lyndon Station.

Katherine worked at Industrial Coils in Baraboo and later at Swiss Colony in Mauston. She then began her long and dedicated career at VTI in Reedsburg, where she worked for 28 years before retiring at the age of 85.

She enjoyed watching NASCAR and Green Bay Packer football and took great pride in watching her grandson Brandon race stock cars at Dells Raceway Park. Katherine loved traveling up north to go fishing with her granddaughter near Ashland. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting 21 states and Canada, without once riding in an airplane.

Katherine is survived by her daughter Teresa (Dean) Benning; sons Dick (Donna) Birdsill and Gary Birdsill; her beloved cat Nala; a very good friend Carol of Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; son Tom; parents; and mother and father in law.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Grasse Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Grasse Funeral Home and Thursday at 10:30 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo.
