James Price, age 91,formerly of Poynette, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026 at Columbia Health Care Center. He was born January 28, 1935 in Columbia County to David and Verla (Beahm) Price.

James graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1953. Following graduation, he served his country in the United States Army and later continued his service with the Air National Guard. On February 11, 1995, he married Helen in Madison, Wisconsin. 

James worked for many years at Ohmeda as a supply distributor. He was a faithful member of Eastside Lutheran Church. Jim also served as Town of Lowville assessor for 42 years. In his free time, James enjoyed building homes, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Helen; children Bev and Curt Walters, Karin Glasgow, Robert and Linda Glasgow, Kaye and Dan Pare, Roger and Kristy Glasgow, Pam and Chris Williams, and Roxanne Price and wife Kim Hammer; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; brother Stuart (Penny) Price and sister-in-law Ida Price. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son Kenneth; 3 daughters; brother Roger and a great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Eastside Madison Lutheran Church in Madison with Rev. Nathaniel Walther officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Church. Interment will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Marcellon Cemetery with Military Honors.
