James Richard Fargen, of Reedsburg, a dedicated veteran, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away Wednesday, May 17, at the King Veterans Home. He was 77 years old.
James was born August 12, 1945, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, to James and Margaret Fargen. At a young age, he displayed a sense of duty and patriotism, enlisting in the Army when he was just 16 years old. He went on to become a paratrooper.
Throughout his life, James pursued various occupations, including working on the railroad, trucking, and bartending. However, his true passion resided in the freedom of the open road. James found solace and joy while riding his beloved motorcycle, feeling the wind against his face and the thrill of the journey beneath him.
James is survived by his loving son Christopher and daughter-in-law Anna, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Aaliyah and Isabelle. He is also survived by his brothers; Terry (Angela) and John (Elaine); sister Colleen, and numerous nieces and nephews, will forever cherish his memory. James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Fargen, and brothers Michael, Timothy, and Dennis. Their spirits now reunite, creating a lasting bond beyond this earthly realm.
In honor of James' selfless service to his country, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled Veterans of America. These contributions will help support and honor those who have valiantly served. James Richard Fargen will be remembered for his bravery, his zest for life, and his unwavering commitment to his loved ones. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all to live life to the fullest.
A graveside visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Fields Cemetery in Bear Creek, Wisconsin, Saturday, June 24 at 10 AM, graveside service to follow at 11 AM. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects.
