James Douglas Hembree, 69 of Berlin, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Arora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born June 15, 1953 in Miami Florida, the son of James V. and Bernice Hembree.
Jim graduated in 1972 from Nathan Hale High School in Milwaukee. He worked at Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee, Armon Products in Montello, and was a foster parent for 10 years. Jim was an avid fisherman and a DJ BeBop. He lived in a domestic partnership with Marilyn Adler.
Survivors include; sons Jason (Meridith) Hembree and Steven (Andrea) Hembree; daughter Angie (Ken) Lipinski; mom Bernice; brother Jeff (Wanda) Hembree; partner Marilyn Adler; 14 grandchildren, Marilyn's mother Marian Van Asten; Marilyn's siblings; Beverly Van Asten and Sharon De Ruyter; brothers Mark (Marcy) Van Asten and Joe (Theresa) Van Asten; Marilyn's children; Michelle (Barry) West, Dawn (Matt) Hierl, and Ryan Adler (Michelle Colletta), and manu nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father James, Marilyn's father William Van Asten, and Marilyn's brother-in-law Richard De Ruyter.
Per Jim's request, a memorial will be held at a later date.
