Gladys Weisensel Olson, age 97, of Reedsburg, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Casa de Oakes. Gladys was born on May 13, 1927 in Columbus, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Weisman) Weisensel. She married Loren Olson on April 6, 1946. Loren and Gladys resided in Morrisonville, Baraboo, Reedsburg, and Loganville.

Gladys operated a family daycare in Reedsburg for many years. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, entertaining, baking, and especially playing cards. She was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Reedsburg.

Gladys is survived by her children Cheryl Rhinehart of Reedsburg, John “Jack” (Yvonne Leiser) of Kona, HI, Jill (Gary) Herritz of Hillpoint, Neil (Shelley) of Reedsburg, and son-in-law Jerry Zuhlke of LaValle; Nine grandchildren Tonia (Lee Hollinsed) Lange, Christopher (Jackie) Herritz, Kurt (Dena) Rhinehart, Chad (Myrna) Rhinehart, Julie Hoenisch, Jamy (Garrett McNally) Olson, Jason (Stacy Colson) Herritz, Sarah (Andy Waugh) Olson, and Andy (Casey) Olson; Nineteen great grandchildren; and Nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Loren, daughter Mary Zuhlke, son-in-law Keith Rhinehart, and great grandson Jonathan Rhinehart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Kris Totzke officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Grasse Funeral Service in Reedsburg and again from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at Church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
