Genevie Marie Kaun of Reedsburg passed into eternal rest August 23, 2024 at the age of 95. Jenny was born on August 31, 1928 in Plain, WI to Frank and Bertha Nachreiner. Jenny was united in marriage to William D. Kaun Jr. September 26, 1956.

Jenny attended school at a one room schoolhouse through the 8th grade. Growing up Jenny worked on the family farm. In her younger years she worked for many local families providing childcare and house cleaning. During this time she learned to crochet and through the years made many beautiful doilies and snowflakes for Christmas trees. Jenny embroidered, sewed, loved to read and garden. Jenny was also an avid letter writer.

After her marriage to Bill, they moved from Spring Green to Reedsburg where their six children were born. Jenny was an at home mother while her children were growing up. Later she provided childcare for many local children. Also during that time she did house cleaning for the Sacred Heart parish rectory as well as working for the Meridian Group, in Baraboo, cleaning apartments. After her children left home Jenny took in boarders. Over the years Jenny provided this service to teachers who were new in town and other folks with summer jobs in Wisconsin Dells, many of whom were still corresponding with her.

Jenny is survived by her six children: James (Debbie) Kaun, Janet (David) Weaver, John (Kathy) Kaun, Jerry (Ruth) Kaun, Jack Kaun, and Randy Kaun; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren (with another soon to arrive). She is also survived by eight step grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Carol Nachreiner and Louise Kaun, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill, sister Virginia Byrnes, brothers Francis Nachreiner and Wilfert Nachreiner.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg, WI on Thursday August 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Father Luke Powers officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
