Gary “Gus” Walter Rose, age 77, of Reedsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born August 20, 1947 in Reedsburg to Walter and Irene (Hinrich) Rose.

He married Sherry Gall August 31, 1987. Gary and Sherry loved each other very much and were best friends and companions for 38 years. He graduated from Webb High School in 1965. Gary installed boumatic milking equipment and later worked for Pace Industries as a grinder. Gary was best known by many as Gus. He loved coon hunting and later found his passion for cooking. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, country western music, and reading L.P. Holmes. He was a 9 year survivor of pancreatic cancer. 

He is survived by his loving wife Sherry; brother Larry Rose; sister Ardith Ryzek; aunt and uncle  Geraldine (Dennis) Klingenmeyer; aunt Norma Hinrichs; beloved dog Andy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol (Rose) Miller.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Grasse Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Crolius officiating. A visitation will be held at 10 A.M. until the time of service on Friday. Inurnment will take place at St. Johns Cemetery. 

Gary was a good kind man and much loved by his wife Sherry and to all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
