Eric Roundy Obituary

Eric Steven Roundy, 53 of Portage, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 15, 2023, at home. He was born Saturday, September 6, 1969, to Lynette and Roger Ullrich, Eric's life was filled with moments of faith, love, and humor.

Eric was confirmed in his faith Sunday, April 15, 1984, at St. John's Lutheran Church and graduated from Pardeeville High School Sunday, May 22, 1988. He later reaffirmed his faith through baptism at the Wesleyan Bible Church in Pardeeville by Pastor Fred Whyte. Eric proudly supported the Badgers and Packers, and his enthusiasm for football was contagious, if not, loud.

Professionally, Eric worked in maintenance at ETC in Middleton, where he formed strong bonds with his co-workers. Known for his compassionate nature and appreciative spirit, Eric had an infectious laugh that could light up any room. Above all else, Eric cherished his role as a father to his two children, Brandyn and Kailyn Roundy. He took immense pride in their lives and nurtured a loving and supportive relationship with them. Eric's devotion to family and friends was unmatched, always reaching out to check on their well-being and offering a helping hand whenever needed.

Despite his declining health in recent years, Eric's genuine concern for others remained steadfast. He enjoyed all things Elvis, basketball, camping, fishing, and spending quality time with loved ones. His great sense of humor and skill in poker and card games like 500 brought joy to those around him…and often a ‘Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane’ chortle for being bested by ‘the best.’

Eric leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love. He is survived by his beloved children, Brandyn and Kailyn Roundy; the mother of Brandyn and Kailyn, Pamela Roundy; his parents, Lynette and Roger Ullrich; his sisters, Sheri (Wayne) Staupe and Tamie (Lisa Pullen) Ullrich; his nieces and nephews, Dustin (Bridget) Andrews, Jessica Kiermas, and Elizabeth Staupe; and his great-nieces, Kinsley and Hadley Andrews. Special friends DeAnn and Todd Tollefson, his loyal dog Peyton, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends also mourn his loss. Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norbert and Dorothy Gorsuch; paternal grandparents, Edwin and Hazel Ullrich; and niece Paige Staupe.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 22 at 6 PM at Grasse Funeral Home in Pardeeville with Rev. Fred Whyte officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 Pm until the time of service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to especially thank the Portage Police Department, EMS, and Grasse Funeral Home for their great care, grace, and compassion in assisting the family during this unimaginably difficult time. Eric's passing leaves a void in the lives of many, but his memory and positive impacts will resonate for generations to come. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
