Emilie J. Karow

Emilie J. Karow (Nee Selje), 80, of Columbus, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Larson House in Columbus. She was born August 24, 1940 to Bert and Gilma Selje. She grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School in 1958. She was married June 28, 1968 at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyeser. 

She is survived by her son, Donald Selje of Reeseville; grandchildren Chase and Callie; in-laws Gil and Mary Hoerth, Sue Johnson, Ken and Sonya Kessenich, Jeff and Nancy Rademacher, Paul Harvey, Joel and Luanne Miller, Kathy Ludwig (Joe Cullen) and Douglas and Laurie Harvey, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Brian Karow in 2015; brother Stanley Selje; father and mother-in-law Henry and Jean Harvey; sister-in-law Margaret.

Private services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Human Society in honor of Emilie’s love of dogs. Special thanks to all the caring staff at the Larson House over the past 4 years and to Generations Hospice.
