Elaine Carol Rossing (Herritz), age 81, of Reedsburg, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at RAMC surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 6, 1944 to LaVerne and Bernice (Wagner) Herritz in Reedsburg.

Elaine married Vern Rossing on August 25, 1962 in Colorado while he was serving in the military. She always lovingly referred to Colorado as “God’s Country.” Throughout their years together, Elaine and Vern enjoyed many vacations, especially trips to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and Graceland.

Elaine enjoyed reading in her spare time, especially western novels. Her greatest joy, however, was her role as Grandma. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren. She loved having them spend weekends with her, especially in the summer when they could all use the pool. They danced and sang along to songs by her favorite singer, Elvis Presley, creating memories that will be cherished forever. To them, she truly was the best Grandma ever.

She enjoyed and will always be remembered for hosting holiday meals. She was a great cook. Elaine worked as a cook in many places over the years. Her most recent job was working at Nuk where she retired in 2003 after 15 years.

She is survived by her loving husband Vern of 63 years; mother Bernice; children Veronica (Steven) Piwonski, Vickie (Brian) Rooker, and Mark Rossing; grandchildren Amanda, Kristen, and Shelby; great grandchildren Korbin, Kennedi, Ellie, Brantley, Elijah, and Josiah; 2 sisters Debbie (Randy) Goodman and Marcia (Bruce) Karstetter; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; sister Sharon; and grandchild Holly.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 9, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Kris Totzke officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at Church. Interment will be held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg
