Douglas “Doug” Charles Paul, age 78 of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully at home Monday, October 21, 2024. He was born December 1, 1945, son of Lester and Myrtle (Hoffmann) Paul of Cambria.

He attended Pardeeville High School and graduated in 1964. He married the love of his life, Ruth Ellen (Kalepp) Paul August 19, 1967 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Wonewoc, WI. During their 57 years of being together they enjoyed camping, trap shooting, gardening, bowling, deer hunting, playing cards with their card club, and traveling with their friends around the country. Their yearly trip to Eagle River with their family was very important and a blessing to all of them. Doug always loved seeing and spoiling his grandchildren and great grandson.

For the past several years Doug processed only deer. He enjoyed talking to all the hunters (old and new customers) and listening to their hunting stories. He was a member of a trap shooting team and sponsored a team called Paul’s Meat Processing in Cambria for a couple of years. Doug also was a member of the Tuesday Night Men’s League and was the president for 25 years. He was the chairman of St. John’s Lutheran Church and an Elder, Doug was alway willing to help. He retired from the Village of Pardeeville as a certified water and sewer operator recently after 25 years.

Doug is survived by his wife Ruth; children Brian (Brenda), Bruce (Tabitha), Brent; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kevin) Gall, Brandon (Gabi), Cody (Sydney), Jackson, Matt, Logan, Ashley, and Crystal; great grandson Lane Brian; step grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, numerous good friends, and also Riley, his yellow lab. He was preceded in death by his son Benjamin; parents Lester and Myrtle; brother Jerry; and father and mother in law Fred and Marion Kalepp.
