Donna Wenzel Obituary

Donna Juene (Barden) Wenzel went home to be with her Savior Jesus January 1, 2024. Donna was born March 13, 1933 in Marcellon Township. Her school days were spent in the Pardeeville School system.

She was united in marriage with Karl W. Wenzel May 27, 1949 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pardeeville. God blessed their union for 66 years until Karl’s passing in 2016. They lived in a lot of different states due to Karl’s employment and also traveled to many numerous countries. Donna was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Pardeeville, where she served on the Ladies Aid, in choir, and taught Sunday School. She was a member of Columbia County Association for Community and Education Homemakers for over 50 years and Comstock Cemetery Trustee. She was also a long time member and board member of the Fuller Society (Edward Fuller Mayflower Descendant).

Donna is survived by her children; son Steven (Trish) Wenzel of rural Pardeeville, daughter Karla (Dennis) Rohrbeck of rural Pardeeville, and son Dr. William D. (Denise) Wenzel of rural Baraboo; 9 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren; brother Stuart (Shirley) Barden, and sister-in-law Rhoda Barden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Karl; brothers Maurice, Ralph, Ronald, and Howard; sisters Dorothy, Thelma, Myrna, Ruth, and Maxine.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 6 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pardeeville with Pastor James Plocher officiating. Interment will follow at Comstock Cemetery in Marcellon Township. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at the church Saturday. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran School in Pardeeville. A special thank you to the staff of At Home Again in Rio and Hospice nursing staff of Generations Hospice.
