Donald Dean Voss

Donald Dean Voss, age 69, of Hartford, WI passed away March 1, 2024 at his home in Hartford. He was born on August 15, 1954 in Portage, WI, son of Raymond and Rosemary Voss. He married Ardis Mielke April 12, 1980.

Don is a graduate of MATC Madison, where he majored in woodworking. He attended Georgetown University for a degree in Calibration. He worked at American Packaging in Columbus for 42 years and retired in 2020. He and his wife Ardis have been members of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Randolph since 1982. He’s been very active with his church where he served several terms on church council. In 2014 Don and Ardis joined the SOAR motorcycle group in Johnsons Creek, where they had made many friends. He’s a devoted grandfather and enjoyed cheering on his granddaughters at their sporting events. Don’s hobbies include woodworking, golfing, riding his Spyder motorcycle, and taking Menards for all he could on “free after rebate items.” Don is known for his witty jokes and the creative massacre of fairy tales.

Survivors include his wife Ardis (Mielke) Voss; son Michael (Nicole) Voss; daughter Kelly Jo (Gary) Gabrus; four granddaughters, Oscheanna Voss, Aurora Voss, Rosemary Gabrus, and Liliana Gabrus; sister Susan (Vern) Schultz; brother James (Tina) Voss; brother in law Daniel Cross; sisters in law Mary Prust and Eleanor Schraugnagel; brothers in law Russell (Robin) Mielke, Raymond (Sharon) Mielke, John Mielke, Dale (Karen) Mielke, and Terry Mielke.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Voss and Rosemary Jacobson; brother Gordon Voss; sister Sylvia Voss; father in law Russell and mother in law Florence Mielke; sister in law Doris Cross; brother in law Armand Prust and Alex Schraufnagel; sisters in law Barbara Mielke, Sharon Mielke, Sandy Mielke, Peggy Mielke, and Cheryl Mielke.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 14 at 11:30 AM at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Randolph with Pastor Anthony Straseske and Jeffery Drake officiating. Visitation will be held 9 AM until time of service. Don is to be cremated. Ardis will keep his ashes until the Lord calls upon her. At that time, they will be buried together at the Rio Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association or Chrones and Colitis Foundation.
