Donald “Don” Rettgen, 78, formerly of Reedsburg passed away June 10, 2023 at Schmitt Woodland Hills in Richland Center. He was born November 14, 1944 at home in the Town of Westfield, Sauk County. He was the son of Lawrence and Lorraine (Klipp) Rettgen.
Don was a 1962 graduate of Webb High School. He was the high school prom king of his class. Don operated the 5th Amendment Bar for several years. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing adult softball and basketball. Don had season tickets for the Milwaukee Brewers and also followed the Packers and Badgers faithfully.
Survivors include his sister Judy (Roy) Holly-Schroeder; niece Sherry Holly of Madison; 3 great-nieces Sasha Mason of Cross Plains, Kaila & Giana Mason of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Richard Holly.
The family will honor his wishes by having a private burial service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Loganville. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Loganville, The Reedsburg Food Pantry, or The Boys & Girls Club of Reedsburg.
