Donald E. Honaker

Donald Eugene Honaker, age 84, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 27, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. 

Donald was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska, the fourth son of Harley A. Honaker and Avis Lemore Honaker. Following his graduation from high school, he attended Nebraska State College in Kearney. On December 25, 1960, he married Kay Graff. While raising their family of three children, Donald completed his degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nebraska.

Donald enjoyed a successful career as a chemical engineer, working for Monsanto Company and later Amoco Oil Corporate Research. He took great pleasure in playing golf and shooting pool, participating in both golf and pool leagues for many years. Don was known for his wonderful sense of humor, bringing smiles and laughter to family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Donald is survived by his wife of 10 years Trudy Burkert and children Susan (Tom) Early and Kurt Honaker. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Tricia Walzale; wives Kay Graff and Diane Strock; brothers Charles Alfred, Francis Robert and Sidney Dean.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Grasse Funeral Home in Pardeeville with Pastor David Butler and Pastor Julie Waterdu officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday.
