Donald Chapman, age 86, of Pardeeville, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Meriter Hospital after a short illness. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden passing.

Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before hitting the open road as a truck driver. He later owned and operated Chapman Trucking until retirement. Alongside his beloved wife, Beverly, they also owned Bev’s Bar, where they served up cold drinks, warm laughs, and more than a few questionable jokes. If you ever heard one, you know exactly what we mean.

Known for his quick wit and mischievous grin, Don had a joke for every occasion—some appropriate, others… let’s just say they were memorable. He loved his family and was proud of his grandchildren, always happy to hear about their recent accomplishments. When he wasn’t cracking jokes, Don enjoyed playing cards, mowing the lawn, woodworking, and homecooked meals—especially anything with gravy or a good casserole.

Don will be forever missed by his six children, Lloyd (Vicki) Chapman, Monte (Cathy) Chapman, Kristie Chapman (Tony Amelio), Valerie (Lloyd) Miller, Donald (Karla) Chapman, and Cory (Sally) Chapman; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-children. He is also survived by his two brothers, Roger (Bridget) Chapman and George (Bonnie) Chapman; his sister, Rita (Henry) Bratland; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends who were like family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Grasse Funeral Home in Pardeeville with Rev. Mark Brandel officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at the Pardeeville Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, gifts and donations may be given to the local food pantry in Don’s memory. The family invites everyone to share a joke, enjoy a plate of comfort food, and remember him with a smile.
