Delbert "Deb" Guy Curtis, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior June 11, 2023 at Randolph Health Service. He was born July 4, 1942 to James "Worth" and Lorraine Curtis.
He graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1960, served in the National Guard, and married Constance Faye Gilberston June 4, 1966. He retired from the Columbia County Highway Dept in 2002 after working there and for the Village of Rio for 36 years. He also served on the Rio Village Board for several years. He helped out in various ways at his church throughout the years. He also participated in Post 208, Rio American Legion and was part of the honors guard. Among his many interests were baking cookies, gardening, watching birds at his bird feeders, restoring and driving classic cars, antique tractor pulls and model railroading.
He is survived by a son, Keith(Christina) Curtis of Illinois, three grandsons, and eight great-grandchildren, former spouse Constance Curtis of Rio, brother Dr. Paul (Rhonda) Curtis of Florida, sister Pamela (Allen) Whitaker of Montana, several nephews, nieces, cousins and his little dog Nina. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Worth "Junior" Curtis, his wife Bertha and their two daughters, Penny and Danielle, also his sisters Carolyn (Carl) Storandt, and Patricia VanAlstine and Patricia's husband, Victor "Butch" VanAlstine who he enjoyed spending time with.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24 at 11 AM at Living Gospel Church in Rio with Rev David Lusse officiating. Inurnment will follow at Ohio Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 AM until the time of service.
