Debra A. Reid

Debra A. Reid, age 72, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 16, 2023. She was born May 23, 1951 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Kenneth Peterson and Ruby (Spickerman) Peterson.

As a child, her family moved to a farm outside of Portage. She attended Fort Winnebago School and later Portage High School where she graduated in 1969. She married Jeff Reid on December 9, 1989 in Montello, WI. For several years, Jeff and Debra made their home in Tucson, AZ, making many friends that Debra kept in touch with up until her passing. Jeff passed away on December 24, 2005.  Always a hard worker and striving to give her kids what they needed, Debra had many occupations throughout her life, but what she enjoyed the most was being a CNA and providing home healthcare. She also made many lifelong friends in that endeavor. She loved reading, playing cards with friends, watching birds, and playing with her cat and dog. In more recent years as she became more limited in her movements, she especially enjoyed the weekly flower bouquets given to her by her loving companion of almost 15 years, Ross Bach. Ross was right there at every moment of Debra's last years and her family could not be more appreciative. 

Debra is survived by her loving companion since 2009, Ross Bach of Reedsburg, WI, her children; son Barry (Lori) Mellen of Sturgeon Bay, WI; daughter Crystal (Scott) Rosenberg of Oakwood, OH; and daughter Erin (Loren) Paul of Winneconne, WI; Nine grandchildren, Jeffery (Natalie Thompson), Erick, Keirsten and Alexandra Mellen; Summer, Ava, and Lucky Pahl; Joshua and Diane Rosenberg; great-grandson, Everett Mellen; and her sister Adele Peterson of Baraboo, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Glen, and husband Jeff.

Nothing excited Deb more than her grandchildren and great-grandson. She will be missed but remembered for all that she did and who she was.
