Debra L. Meinert, age 69, of Poynette, passed away May 8, 2024 after a courageous 25 year battle with several devastating diseases and ultimately Covid, which took over 2 years to beat her. 

The last 2 ½ years of Deb’s life left me in awe of her strength and will to live “to see her grandkids grow up.” I’ve never known a person with her strength and perseverance. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, as well as a devoted friend. Loving her family was a main focus of Deb’s life and she did it with gusto! “Deb was a hell of a woman and the love of my life, we’ll take it from here babe.” 

Survivors include her husband of 49 years Michael Meinert of Poynette; brother Ed (Analiza) Fenne of Reno, NV; sister Lorrie Fenne of Cottage Grove; son Shaun Meinert of Madison; daughter Melissa (Josh) Minette of Prairie du Sac; Riley Meinert (Angel) 19; Warren Meinert 11 and his mom Heather; Skylar Minette 8; sister in law Mary Fernbach and family; brother and sister in law Bill and Debbie Meinert; nieces and nephews Carrie (Nathan), Terra, Eli, Kaelyn, Jaelyn, Molly, Tagen, and Summer (Carlos); and uncle Bill Leiser. She is preceded in death by her mother Laurine ‘Rene’ Higgins; grandfather Larry Higgins; father Gilbert Boyles; mother and father in law Kathleen and Clifford Meinert; brother in law Dan (Mary) Fernbach; brother in law David L. Meinert; Grandma Leiser; Tom and Bobby; and of course Uncle Dick Peirce.

There will be no service at this time. A celebration of Deb’s life will be announced at a later date.
