Corrine Beth (nee Hartman) Martin passed away peacefully at Our House Senior Living Memory Care June 4, 2023. Corrine was born in Merrimac, WI October 26, 1934 to Albert and Mertis (nee Hyer) Hartman and grew up on her family's dairy farm.
This is where her deep love for animals and the outdoors was nurtured. She attended Prairie du Sac High School, graduating in 1952. She was married to the love of her life, Ray for close to 57 years. Many wonderful years were spent together on their farm, where they raised their children, Jacqueline and James. Between the demands of farming and family life, Corrine found joy in dancing, baking, volunteering, and staying connected with friends through her church and Homemakers group. After retiring from farming, Corrine and Ray moved to Reedsburg to appreciate a more relaxed pace of life. They had many friends and participated in community events. They were able to enjoy many travels and Corrine often shared memories of their trips to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She took great pleasure in time spent with her grandchildren, Ashley and Connor, and in 2021 she was excited to become a great-grandmother to Cedar. Corrine loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved a good back rub. She valued the small joys in life and never took herself too seriously. She had an immeasurable love for her family who will fondly remember and miss her kindness, warmth and delicious baked treats.
Corrine is survived by daughter Jacqueline (Steve) Suleski of Madison; son James of Reedsburg; grandchildren Ashley (Austin) Rounds and great-grandchild Cedar of Deerfield, WI, and Connor Grosshans (fiancé Katy Dale) of Hopkins, MN. Corrine was predeceased by her parents, and husband Ray in 2014.
Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Our House in Reedsburg for their compassionate care through Corrine's final years.
Corrine will be honored in a graveside ceremony at 11 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Stone Church, 6787 Stone Church Dr, Rock Springs, WI 53961. Memorials may be made in Corrine’s memory to the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, 600 Highland Ave. J 5/1 Mezzanine, Madison WI 53792-2420.
